Ice Cream!

On yet another day, you decide that you will consciously keep a watch on the food that you eat and make sure that at least by this month end, you reduce a few kilos. With the oath taken for nth time in the past few months, you go to the food court to have lunch with your friends. Your friend says she is going to have an ice cream and looks at you. You tell her that you won’t have ice cream and she laughs knowing very well about how strong you are in sticking to your β€˜diet’. You go along with her and on seeing the different flavours of ice cream and thinking about how delicious they taste, you fight hard to control your temptation. To add to it, you see someone buying a large Sundae. That’s it! All oath forgotten and not caring the least about your friend laughing at you (after all, seeing this happen has become a habit now πŸ˜‰ ), you get just a single scoop of ice cream. But, does it end there? The man at the counter asks, β€˜Toppings?’ and on hearing him tell the list of toppings he has, you can’t control the temptation at all and end up eating a nice butterscotch ice cream with a butterscotch topping with the feeling of guilt pushed to the back of your mind! Yummy! πŸ˜€

Once the ice cream gets over, you decide that at least from now on, you will stick to your β€˜diet’. But, next week, again the same story continues. πŸ™‚

P.S.: Was wondering what post to write next when reading Gayathri’s post made me realize that I too have a similar story to tell. πŸ˜‰

thats why i dont stick to diet … found it real tough to follow them …

So – eat as much as you …jog extra hours in the GYM … and that maintains the weight .. MAINTAINS …. doesnt reduce and am still overweight ..

you know gaining weight is easy reducing is so tough – esp working in the s.w company you miss the GYM every time you are almost reducing – and gain the lost weight back !!

Its verrry difficult to control temptation when someone is having yummy icecream right in front of your eyes. :–))

Same case with me too. Trying to diet, without success. I am close to giving up. Will only working out four days week, help in loseing weight?

    Aparna,

Probably u shud meet up with Gayathri over a weekend and indulge in binging big large sundaes together…And make sure u dont have any one around you to instil that undesirable feeling of guilt that results πŸ™‚ [But let us know in your blogs on how many pounds u added as a result of that, for general knowledge of we commoners πŸ˜› ]

On a serious note , practice moderation, watch the calories and burn them when u see its goin overboard. By that way , you can get to be slim wihout havin to sacrifice on your fave cravinngs. [ No , I am not a nutritionist/dietician πŸ˜› ]

I know exactly what you’re talking about. Am going to this beach town at the end of this month, and am trying hard to turn a little buff, and not end up looking like a iyer mama (which I inevitably am). But the culinary temptations are endless! Damn ’em!

πŸ™‚ Its all “Temptation Island”. (is there an ice cream by that name? if not, soon to name one!)

When Eve could do it for an Apple. Aparna can do it for a Butterscotch. I know, Adam took care of all the repercussions… [:D]

Same is the case with me. I have achieved something remarkable in the last week. Ate ONLY two icecreams πŸ™‚

    @ Ranjhith,
Talking of icecream names, there’s one called ‘The Last Time I ever saw my waist’ πŸ™‚ Very aptly named. Aparna had it πŸ˜€

One more thing, the above mentioned icecream is available at Eden, Besant Nagar.

    πŸ˜›
Yes moderation might work indeed πŸ™‚

    Shiva,
Hope you get very much tempted by the food there πŸ˜›

    Sathej,
    Hmmm

    Ranjhith,
Yup anything for a butterscotch πŸ˜‰

    Durga,
Sshhhh. Don’t tell all that in my blog πŸ˜›

    @Durga
    > β€˜The Last Time I ever saw my waist’

No one wud ask for one. As this appears like a self-confession. πŸ™‚

    > Eden, Besant Nagar.

Taking a 3rd look, gave me the details. Going by what Eve did at Eden, what Aparna did at another Eden was “excessively” perfect. BTW, were you the mighty “Serpent” ? πŸ˜€
