Barso Re!

Just when I was about to leave for the day from work, I came to know that it was raining in many parts of the city except the place I was in. Rain in Madras! πŸ™‚

Anyway, as the bus started, it was nice to experience the transformation in the weather as the travel continued. The dry roads, with the blazing sun as usual (no one would have guessed it was raining in other parts of the city!) is where my journey started. Then, slowly the weather became pleasant, there were the marks of wet tyres on the road. Incidentally, I didn’t sleep while travelling in the bus today. Was it because of the weather? πŸ˜› Then, came the maNvaasanai. Wow! πŸ™‚ Then, the roads that witnessed the rain that had puddles of water everywhere and along with it came a nice breeze. πŸ™‚ And then, the Adyar Bridge. The sky had a pinkish tinge at around 5 itself and the reflection of it in the water was amazing! πŸ™‚ Everything was nice till I got down from the bus and stepped on the road! Itthudan naan iyarkaiyai rasitthadhu mudindhadhu!

Imagine walking on a road, half of which is covered by water, and the two-wheeler and car drivers honking their horns and glaring at you as though you are walking in the middle of the road out of your own choice! Make them walk on the water! Add to it the water from the road that splashes on you whenever a vehicle passes by!

The ‘best’ part is yet to come! The TASMAC Wine Shops! I hate those! The platforms outside these shops used for all purposes other than walking irritates me to the core! The rain only adds to the woes! How can one walk on the road outside it when the whole place stinks and the rain water stagnate outside it! In the evenings, it is only worse what with our great ‘kudi’magargaL standing outside it!

As I reached home, I was left wondering whether I wanted to sing Barso re megha or Rain, rain go away! πŸ˜‰

    Hello Aparna,
Of course, I must have been specific. They don’t get on the nerves of their own fraternity.
